| August 8th, 2009Warbirds at the Summit is a “military only” radio controlled air show being held Saturday August 8th at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge Ohio. Military aircraft from Stearman to Stallions and everything in-between including jets, helicopters and a flying lawn mower will perform aerial displays during the day. Concessions will be available during the event. For anyone with an interest in model aviation, this is a great individual or family event. |

Tank Battle
We regret to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances neither Christian Weiss or Glen Blanton will be able to perform their Giant Scale Tank battle at this year’s Warbirds at the Summit. Both Christian and Glen send their sincerest apologies to all who were interested in seeing their performance.
Bill Pirschell’s UH1-HUEY
This is a UH-1C I modeled after #137 from the 174th AHC. I was fortunate enough to be able to contact several members of its crew who helped provide the information I needed to model it.
It was built from a Len Mount kit and uses a Jakadofsky Pro turbine engine. It turns 93,000 rpm but the rotorhead turns 975rpm. The weapons, antennas, and interior were scratch built. From the time I started building until it was ready to fly fully dressed was about a year and a half.
