The Corsair Model Aircraft Club (CMAC) is a friendly, family oriented, flying club for builders and fliers of remote radio control (R/C) model aircraft. CMAC is sanctioned by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and is one of the largest, and oldest, clubs in the nation. We have an excellent safety record - we've never had a claim against our insurance for any injury, to a member or spectator, at our club in our 40 year history. CMAC sponsors a formal, free, training program for new pilots. CMAC provides several presentations to scouting organizations and church youth groups every year and our club field is utilized by the University of Akron College of Engineering Aero Design Team to test their award winning designs.

New Pilot Training

Tuesday Nights

Weather permitting, new pilot training is held every Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm, from the first Tuesday in May until the last Tuesday in September. During new pilot training, flying is restricted to training instructors and new pilots only. Others may be permitted to fly, only if the Training Marshall gives permission.

Other Training Options

Outside of this scheduled program, there may be CMAC Club experienced pilots who are willing to help new members get started. You may ask for assistance, but please respect the wishes of those who are not comfortable assisting new pilots.
